Free Swinging Blades Option

Free Swinging Blades Option

This cartridge is used above the soil surface and through the layer of thatch (dead grass) that accumulates between the healthy green grass and the soil. The fish-tailed design of the blades helps to hook out unwanted thatch and moss and allows more water, nutrients and air to the healthy grass and roots. This rotor is not designed to be used into the soil but can be used on lawns that have not been scarified before and have a dense thatch layer.

Verticutter Blades Option

Verticutter Blades Option

Also known as the grooming reel, the Verticutter is predominantly designed for clearing lawns of weed grasses. The Verticutter blades are designed to be used just above the thatch layer so will not impact the soil. This cartridge will remove weed grasses and annual meadow grass seed heads to prevent thatch forming and promote finer grasses, so increasing turf density and thickening the lawn. It can also be used before mowing to create an upright lawn, resulting in a neater and more uniform cut.

Spring Rake Option

Spring Rake Option

The free-swinging spring tines on this cartridge work rather like the tines on a manual lawn rake, pulling out the thatch, while being relatively gentle on the turf making it the ideal cartridge if you are looking to undertake regular, light scarification, to manicure your lawn. This rotor can be used all year round if required as it removes unwanted moss and thatch without aggressively disrupting the healthy growing grass.

Fixed Blades Option

Fixed Blades Option

For lawns where slitting is required, the fixed blade cartridge is the answer. Mounted with heavy-duty 2mm thick, fixed blades, the fixed blades will perform deep scarification. Each blade has three edges and they are mounted on a central rod with an alternating layout. The blades are spaced evenly with 26mm wide spacers. The fixed blades are thicker than the free-swinging blades, and because they’re in a fixed position on the rotor, this cartridge is ideal for virtually any lawn.

Fixed Blades with Hard Edge Option

Fixed Blades with Hard Edge Option

HardEdge, sometimes referred to as hardfacing or hardsurfacing, is the application of wear-resistant metals to the tips of the blade surface by means of welding. This ensures a harder edge and is particularly beneficial if the blades are being used in very tough conditions as it helps the blades keep their edge for longer. (Fixed Blades image)

'Stay Sharp' Blades Option

'Stay Sharp' Blades Option

This cartridge is designed to be used for jobs that would be too much for the other cartridges and blades. The blades on the Stay Sharp cartridge are the thickest and strongest we supply. They are free-swinging and made from 3mm thick Hardox® with a pointed tip so they will tackle the toughest conditions and keep sharp for longer. The blades are mounted on 3 rods separated with spacers and each rod layout is alternating to provide maximum coverage.

Product Information

Description

Maintaining healthy turf throughout the year often requires more than one type of scarifying treatment. The CAMON LS14 has been developed as a versatile turf renovation machine, allowing contractors and grounds teams to change the working cartridge to suit different grass conditions, seasonal maintenance programmes and renovation work without changing machines.

Available with a choice of professional petrol engines, the LS14 combines a compact footprint with robust construction and an impressive power-to-size ratio. Its narrow overall width allows it to pass easily through standard garden gates, while puncture-proof wheels and a fixed front axle provide stable operation and accurate blade depth control when working close to walls, fences and other obstacles.

One of the LS14's biggest advantages is its interchangeable cartridge system. Operators can choose from free-swinging blades, verticutter blades, spring rake tines, fixed blades, HardEdge fixed blades or Stay Sharp blades, allowing the machine to tackle everything from light seasonal maintenance through to more intensive scarification and turf renovation. Fine height adjustment makes it easy to achieve accurate working depths, while the angled rear flap allows moss and thatch to discharge efficiently during operation.

A simple two-stage safety system keeps operation straightforward, and an optional 55L collector is available for gathering moss and debris where collection is preferred.
